We are a small home-based Pilates Studio, providing one-on-one Therapeutic Pilates sessions and Group Equipment classes.
Pilates integrates all components of physical fitness including strength, mobility, endurance, coordination and balance. By using spring-resistant equipment the method allows the body to work in a safe and supportive way by unweighting the body against gravity.
Our Classes
Pilates is about improving posture, movement, stability, strength, stamina, and flexibility…and we believe strongly that those benefits are better realized in small group formats.
We encourage new clients to take a few private Pilates sessions before taking a Pilates Group Equipment Class. The personal attention that you will receive will help you learn proper technique and alignment and improve your overall Pilates experience.
Small group training is one of the largest trends in the industry because it brings results, fun, variety, and personal attention at prices lower than private sessions. Our small groups at MI Pilates Garage are all limited in size to ensure plenty of individual attention.
Apprentice Instructor Private Session
An APPRENTICE session is a 45-minute private lesson with a teacher in training. The first session includes a movement evaluation and core education. Your teacher will instruct a Pilates session including exercises and a personalized workout on the Pilates equipment. All sessions are mentored by senior instructors. Clients with acute or complex injuries are required to do an Assessment prior to beginning APPRENTICE sessions.
Private Pilates Sessions
Private sessions are the fastest way to progress in Pilates. Your certified Pilates instructor will work one-on-one with you on the mat and on the full range of equipment, including the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Ladder Barrel. The trainer will adjust the intensity of the work to the level appropriate for you.
This is a 50-minute one-on-one Pilates and corrective exercise session. During this session your instructor will work with you to identify postural and muscular imbalances as well as inefficient movement and gait patterns. They will then lead you through a personalized session using the Pilates equipment to address your individual needs with corrective exercise. Many people that suffer from chronic spine and joint pain will find pain relief through Pilates exercises including improved posture and movement patterns. This session is appropriate for all bodies no matter your level of fitness.
All private sessions are 50 minutes in length.
Semi-Private Pilates Sessions
Semi-Private sessions are for friends, couples or partners with similar goals that would like to work out together. Semi-Private sessions can be a cost-effective way for you to enjoy the benefits of Pilates. Your instructor will guide you through a challenging and invigorating workout using the Pilates apparatus. Like our private sessions, semi-private classes provide tailored instruction focused on your and your partner’s needs, ensuring optimal outcomes for both. Semi-private sessions are a great way to spend quality time, supporting and witnessing each other's growth and achievements.
All semi-private sessions are 50 minutes in length and require 2 participants.

Functional Training Pilates/TRX
Functional training is a fitness approach that focuses on enhancing everyday movements and activities by emphasizing exercises that engage multiple muscle groups simultaneously. Functional Training Pilates/TRX aims to improve overall strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination, explicitly emphasizing movements relevant to daily life. By incorporating functional exercises that mimic real-world activities, such as bending, lifting, and reaching, this training methodology aims to enhance the body's ability to perform daily tasks efficiently and reduce the risk of injuries. Pilates Equipment + TRX training will change the way you view exercise and will take your workouts to a whole new level.
